The Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics meets every October, gathering pre-K through College educators from across the state of Illinois for an inspirational time of professional development, collaboration, and community.  This year, ICTM is hosting is 73rd state conference and is excited to host the event in Normal on the Illinois State University campus!

Date: Saturday, October 4, 8:30 - 4:00

Location: This will be a fully in-person conference on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal at the Bone Center.

Conference Theme: Teaching and Learning Mathematics with Joy

Keynote Speaker: We are very excited to have Mike Flynn joining us! Among other things, Mike is the CEO of Flynn Education, author of Beyond Answers: Exploring Mathematics Practices with Young Children, Massachusetts' Teacher of the Year in 2008, and Presidential Award for Excellence in Math Teaching recipient.

Conference Pricing (Click HERE to begin Registration): 

  • $80 for ICTM Members, $130 for non-members (non-member registrations will receive a 1-year complimentary membership)
  • $20 for ICTM Student Members (College students studying to be teachers); $50 for college student non-members (includes a 1-year complimentary membership).
  • If you are not a member, you will have the option of becoming one during registration to receive member pricing.
  • Payments can be made by credit card, check, or a school purchase order.
  • Note: Registration is free for lead speakers. They should register using the special link that will be e-mailed to them.

Food Included with Registration: There will be light breakfast items, a variety of boxed lunches, afternoon snack, and beverages.

Conference Scholarships: ICTM is awarding up to 5 scholarships to cover the full cost of registration.  These scholarships are part of our annual Jerry Becker Equitable Access Conference Scholarship program.  These scholarships are meant to help teachers working in high-needs school districts the opportunity to attend professional development events. Conference scholarships also include a complimentary 1-year ICTM membership and up to $200 of travel stipends. Group Registrations: If you are a school personnel and want to register a group of teachers at one time and pay all at once, please e-mail [email protected] and we will do that with you. There are no group discounts for this conference.

Paying with School Purchase Orders: We do accept school purchase orders and can work with your finance office to make this happen. Please contact [email protected] and we can work together to get you what your office needs.

IL Professional Development Hours: All IL teachers who attend the full conference are eligible to receive 6.5 IL PD hours. Attendees must follow the posted check-in/check-out procedures that will be posted at the conference.

  • 11:10 - 12:00   Session 2
  • 12:00 - 1:00     Lunch (Boxed Lunch included) 
  • 1:00 - 1:50       Session 3
  • 2:00 - 2:50       Session 4
  • 3:00 - 3:50       Session 5

Awards Ceremony: The ICTM Annual awards ceremony will be held directly after the conference in the same location. There will be a social time from 4:00 to 4:30, and the ceremony will go from approximately 4:30 - 6:00. We will honor our ICTM award winners, college scholarship recipients, and recent presidential award winners. All are welcome!

Exhibitor Hall: There will be many conference exhibitors that you can visit throughout the conference and during lunch. If you are an exhibitor looking for details on participating, click HERE!

Hotels/Accommodations: There is not a specific hotel or hotel block for this year's conference. There are many hotels in the Bloomington-Normal area.  Choose accommodations that work best for you! Here is a list of some of the options to explore!
